Sinharaja Rain Forest.π
The Sinharaja Rain Forest named a world heritage site by UNESCO is actually an ecosystem rich in biodiversity.π As I see Sinharaja is a we must visit forest. During my school time I went to see this Sinharaja forest with the student studying geography at the school.π«ππ¬π« It was organized by our geography sir. π As a matter of facts it was a precious moment in my life. ❤ That day we set out for the journey early in the morning. Then there we had breakfast and started touring. π£ According to my knowledge Sinharaja is bordered by three districts. Rathnapura, Galle and Mathara district. And also there are four ways to enter Sinharaja.Kalawana, Rakwana,Hininduma and Deniyaya ways. We traveled across the Rakwana way. π£ We were guided by a mentor while touring in the forest.
By all means when traveling the body feels wonderfully cool.☺
Not only that the plant system of Sinharaja consists of five main layers.π
*Emergent layer
*Canopy layer
*Sub Canopy layer
*Understory layer
*Ground layer
Different plant species can be identified in these layers.π³π³π³ In the literal sense of the word Sinharaja is a herbal garden. And also we can see herbal plants endemic to Sri Lanka. Moreover an endemic flora and animals of Sri Lanka can be identified. πππΈπΈππ For example: Blue magpie,Junglefowl,πGreen pit viper etc. Not only that Butterfly species, π¦π¦π¦fish species can be identified.
One of the saddest things we hear today is the environmental destruction in this area.π₯π₯π₯ Specially cutting of rare plants, hunting, etc. So Biodiversity is threatened.
☝Once and for all I would link to say we must work to protect the great legacy of nature.π€
